Long scree slope at
the start. |
Scramble: RT 6.5.
We camped at Wilcox campground. The next
morning we started on the grassy slopes really early, there was frost
everywhere and it was crisp. We were lucky and got firm scree up the
initial slope, it really wasn't that bad. The rest was quite nice, we
quickly gained altitude with the most awesome view around. The final
snow slope to the summit is steepish but there is a fool-proof catch
basin that would stop a fall from going too far; our doggy followed up
behind us in the kicked steps. The highlight: watching Winston coming
down the snow slope to meet with Fab at full-on velocity, legs in the
air sideways trying to make the turn. "He's coming in hot" is
what I
recall yelling!!! Great memories... |
