Snowshoe
trip: This wasn't a typical outing for me as I rarely visit the mountains of the Coastal Region. I included
this casual short jaunt on my list because it's easily accessed from
the city of Vancouver and the views are fabulous. It's also a novelty
to
be able to hike the mountain on snow and be barefoot on the
sandy shores of the ocean the same day. The lack of difficulty makes this trek a popular choice; that being said, it may be
necessary to negotiate hoards of people on the trail. Our ascent was fun, the
trail was compacted and snowshoes weren't required but we used ours to
pass people in the fluffy snow. We had a yummy lunch at the top while
soaking in
the sun like marmots, it was delightful. Although this hike didn't
challenge our
fitness, the views left us breathless! I thoroughly enjoyed my day on
Hollyburn Mountain. Special thanks to Milan for
planning a perfect trip to the coast.

I'm not used to seeing the ocean from a mountain top.
