Fab, from Zombie Peak. |
Scramble:
Very nice weather in the forecast compelled us to go camping in the
mountains. We noticed on a previous outing that the peak north of
Lang Creek appeared to be an easy scramble. We set off with the
intention of camping along the traverse where a stream comes down from
the western mountainside, 841902. Indeed, it was a fine spot. The
following morning we ascended Kingpin with no difficulty and enjoyed
the
view for quite a while before returning to our vehicle. A marmot had
taken shelter under the hood of the van. We heard it while stowing our
stuff. Fab tried to get it out with a stick but he burrowed deeper into
the wires and such. We had to wait; we played loud music hoping he
would get scared. After about half an hour, he decided to casually make
his way onto a rock next to us. He stared at us for a bit before
disappearing in the boulders. |
